Principal Scientist/Lab Head – Oncology Biotherapeutics | Novartis – Cambridge, MA
Job Summary:
Novartis is seeking a Principal Scientist/Lab Head in Oncology Biotherapeutics to lead the discovery and development of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, this role involves driving novel therapeutic strategies from target identification to clinical development. If you have a PhD and a strong foundation in cancer biology, ADCs, and collaborative research, this is your chance to make a lasting impact in oncology drug discovery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead discovery programs by validating cell surface targets and developing novel ADC therapeutic strategies.
Oversee end-to-end project development from concept through lead candidate selection.
Guide and mentor lab-based scientists to generate critical preclinical data.
Collaborate with cross-functional global teams in protein engineering, medicinal chemistry, and in vivo modeling.
Present findings and strategic plans to leadership and governance review boards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
PhD in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
3–5 years of industry or academic research experience in oncology or biotherapeutics.
Strong understanding of cancer and cellular biology.
Hands-on experience with cell culture and in vitro cell-based assays.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary scientific teams.
Excellent communication and data presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in ADC development, biologics drug discovery, or oncology therapeutics.
People management or scientific leadership experience.
Strong publication or patent record in oncology-related research.
