Key Responsibilities

  • Experimental Work:

    • Accurately perform chemical experiments, including synthesis, purification, and data analysis.
    • Maintain high standards of lab practices and proficiency in modern synthetic chemistry methodologies and reaction mechanisms.
  • Medicinal Chemistry Expertise:

    • Develop an understanding of Structure-Activity Relationships (SAR) by integrating data from various fields.
    • Lead optimization efforts by designing new molecules using SAR, modeling, computational tools, and literature precedents.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Computational and Analytical Drug Discovery (CADD), Biology, and Pharmacokinetics for enhanced molecule design and in vitro/in vivo correlations.
  • Communication & Documentation:

    • Present experimental results and updates effectively in group and multifunctional meetings.
    • Produce concise, high-quality scientific reports, updates, and regulatory documents, including patent write-ups.
  • Team Collaboration & Leadership:

    • Lead projects in a collaborative team environment, providing clear direction, feedback, and support to team members.
    • Demonstrate leadership in safety, lab infrastructure, and departmental initiatives, promoting a culture of lab citizenship.

Educational Qualification

  • Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry

Experience

  • 10–12 years of post-qualification experience in medicinal chemistry and related fields.

Behavioral Skills

  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly with minimal supervision.
  • Meticulous documentation and multitasking capabilities.
  • Team player with adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment.
