Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Digital Team for Infusion Pumps products.
You will design, develop, and deploy scalable and reliable data pipelines supporting an AI/ML-based product that calculates clinical limits for infusion therapy.

Your expertise in data engineering, architecture, and software development will enhance the product’s accuracy and reliability, directly impacting patient care quality.


Key Responsibilities

1. Data Pipeline Design & Development

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable, reliable data pipelines for large historical infusion therapy datasets.

  • Collaborate with data scientists, clinicians, and engineers to meet data requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including:

    • FDA guidelines for Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)

    • CE marking requirements

    • ISO 13485:2016

2. Data Architecture & Storage

  • Design and implement data architectures for AI/ML model development.

  • Select and implement suitable data storage solutions:

    • Relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)

    • NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra)

    • Data warehouses (Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery)

  • Optimize data indexing, partitioning, and query performance.

3. Data Processing & ETL

  • Build and manage ETL workflows to extract, transform, and load data.

  • Standardize, clean, and validate data for AI/ML model use.

  • Utilize tools such as Apache NiFi, Talend, and Informatica PowerCenter.

4. Data Security & Compliance

  • Implement and monitor:

    • Data encryption

    • Access control

    • Backup and recovery systems

  • Ensure data handling aligns with all regulatory and security guidelines.

5. Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align on data needs and project goals.

  • Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders (clinicians, product managers).

  • Contribute to multidisciplinary discussions ensuring business alignment.


Education & Experience

  • Experience: 10–15 years in data engineering, software development, or a related field.

  • Programming Languages: Java, Python, C++.

  • Frameworks: Apache Beam, Apache Spark, Apache Flink.

  • Data Tools:

    • Databases: Relational, NoSQL, Data Warehouses

    • ETL: Apache NiFi, Talend, Informatica PowerCenter

  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with SaMD regulations, ISO 13485:2016, and FDA guidelines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

  • Deep understanding of data pipeline architecture and compliance
