Job Overview

The Pharmacy Director at Primary Health Solutions (PHS) will oversee the optimization and total management of the pharmacy programs, ensuring financial, operational, customer service, and quality objectives are met. The role includes management of the clinical pharmacy program, 340B program, in-house pharmacy operations, and external pharmacy partnerships.


Key Responsibilities

🔹 Pharmacy Program & Operations Management

  • Oversee all internal and external pharmacy operations, ensuring continuous compliance with state/federal laws and regulations.
  • Maintain 340B compliance and specialty pharmacy standards.
  • Develop pharmacy budgets and financial expectations with the leadership team.
  • Evaluate and update pharmacy policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Optimize pharmacy revenue streams, including expansion into infusion, institutional, and specialty pharmacy services.
  • Lead pharmacy quality improvement and service expansion initiatives.

🔹 Pharmaceutical Services & Compliance

  • Fill and dispense pharmaceuticals and specialty medications per legal guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy records and inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with payer contracts and pharmacy licenses.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff and operations to uphold excellence in service and safety.

🔹 Leadership & Team Management

  • Provide direct oversight of all pharmacy staff, including Pharmacists in Charge, Clinical Pharmacists, and 340B Quality Specialists.
  • Oversee courier staff responsible for pharmacy deliveries.
  • Manage third-party relationships and partnerships.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, hiring, and staff training.

🔹 Courier Management & Expansion

  • Develop and implement a courier program to manage all in-house pharmacy deliveries.
  • Expand courier services beyond pharmacy as needed.
  • Maintain financial tracking and performance data.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an ACPE Accredited College of Pharmacy (BS in Pharmacy, PharmD).
  • Current Ohio Pharmacy License in good standing.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years in Community Pharmacy (FQHC/340B experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, compliance, and revenue management.
  • Ability to lead and develop pharmacy teams effectively.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Customer Service: Ensures high levels of patient satisfaction and service excellence.
  • Communication: Able to convey ideas effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Problem-Solving: Can analyze complex situations and provide practical solutions.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to supervise and mentor teams, ensuring performance excellence.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), pharmacy management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
