Job Overview

This role focuses on leading pharmacovigilance operations and drug safety programs at an organizational level. The position involves overseeing end-to-end safety processes, managing teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving strategic initiatives to enhance pharmacovigilance operations and patient safety.


Key Responsibilities

Pharmacovigilance Operations Leadership

  • Oversee delivery of pharmacovigilance services across projects
  • Ensure compliance with global drug safety regulations and guidelines
  • Manage end-to-end safety reporting including ICSRs and aggregate reports

Team & Resource Management

  • Lead and manage Team Leads and operational teams
  • Ensure optimal resource allocation and performance management
  • Drive hiring, staffing, and team development initiatives

Safety Surveillance & Risk Management

  • Monitor and analyze safety data for signal detection
  • Lead investigation and assessment of potential safety signals
  • Ensure timely submission of safety reports to regulatory authorities

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as primary point of contact for client interactions
  • Manage risks, issues, and escalations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Operations & Quality Management

  • Implement quality management systems and ensure data integrity
  • Monitor KPIs, SLAs, and operational performance
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation, and process optimization

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

  • MSc / Bachelor of Pharmacy / Master of Pharmacy
  • Preferred: Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, or equivalent)

Experience

  • 12–15+ years in pharmacovigilance or drug safety
  • Strong experience in ICSR processing, aggregate reporting, and signal detection

Technical Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of global PV regulations (ICH, FDA, EMA)
  • Experience with safety databases (e.g., Argus, ARISg)
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
