Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join our team at a private pharmacy in John Day, OR. This is a full-time opportunity offering a supportive work environment with wonderful management and staff. As a pharmacist, you will provide essential pharmaceutical care, ensure safe medication practices, and contribute to the overall health and wellness of our community.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately dispense prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs in accordance with federal and state regulations.

  • Provide medication counseling to patients on proper use, dosage, side effects, and interactions.

  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal medication therapy management.

  • Maintain and manage pharmacy inventory, ensuring the availability of necessary medications.

  • Ensure the security and proper storage of medications, especially controlled substances.

  • Handle and resolve patient inquiries or issues in a professional and timely manner.

  • Keep detailed and accurate records of prescriptions, patient interactions, and medication dispensing.

  • Stay up-to-date on pharmaceutical practices, new drugs, and medical advancements.

  • Participate in pharmacy-related administrative tasks as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree from an accredited program.

  • Licensure: Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy.

  • Experience: New graduates are welcome to apply. Prior pharmacy experience is a plus but not required.

  • Skills:

    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

    • Detail-oriented and organized.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

    • Strong customer service skills and a patient-first attitude.
