Job Overview:

NurseStar Medical Partners is seeking a Pharmacist to work at a robust ambulatory healthcare service center in the Hoopa Valley. The role is crucial to the healthcare services for the Native American community, and candidates must be sensitive to their culture, traditions, and background.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Review each physician's order for accuracy and/or omissions. Clarify orders with the prescriber as needed and document interactions.
  • Complete annual IV Room competency within designated timeframes.
  • Accurately prepare all compounded sterile products.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow security clearance protocols.
  • Work in a medical environment sensitive to the needs of the Native American community.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy; PharmD preferred, including a 1-year residency.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience.
  • State License: Active California Pharmacist license.
  • Certifications:
    • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Work Schedule:

  • Days: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Closed for lunch from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM)
  • Special Schedule: Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday until 2:00 PM.

Additional Requirements:

  • COVID-19 vaccination required.
  • Must satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background investigation.
  • Must adhere to a high level of security clearance.

The facility serves the greater Hoopa Valley and has been in operation since 1974. The medical center is accredited by The Joint Commission, ensuring high safety and quality standards for healthcare services. It was previously known as Hoopa Health Association and now provides comprehensive care to the community.

Contract Length: 13 to 26 weeks
