Job Summary

The Operations Associate is responsible for executing transaction-based healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) tasks with accuracy and adherence to standard operating procedures. The role focuses on operational task completion, documentation maintenance, workflow support, and contribution to process improvement initiatives within the U.S. healthcare RCM environment. This position is part of the Operations team.


Team Overview

The Operations team manages key workflow execution across athenahealth platforms, including athenaClinicals and athenaCollector. The team collaborates with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, efficient, and consistent healthcare operations. Members use athenaNet platform knowledge and healthcare process expertise to support service delivery, workflow quality, and operational performance improvements.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Task Execution

  • Perform assigned healthcare RCM tasks accurately and within defined timelines

  • Execute transaction-based workflows as per standard operating procedures

  • Ensure completion of assigned responsibilities with adherence to quality requirements


Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation for all assigned activities

  • Follow compliance standards, SOPs, and process guidelines

  • Ensure traceability of completed work through proper documentation


Quality & Process Adherence

  • Ensure consistent adherence to operational quality standards

  • Identify deviations in workflow execution and escalate as required

  • Support accuracy and consistency in daily operational output


Issue Identification & Resolution

  • Identify issues in assigned workflows

  • Escalate or resolve issues based on established procedures

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders for issue resolution


Process Improvement

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

  • Support efforts to enhance service quality, efficiency, and consistency

  • Help identify opportunities to reduce rework and improve workflows


Collaboration & Communication

  • Participate in team discussions related to quality and productivity

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve task-related issues

  • Support knowledge sharing and process updates across the team


Technology & Tools

  • Use internal systems and tools (including athenaNet platform) for operational tasks

  • Leverage AI-enabled tools (where available) for productivity improvements such as summarization, pattern identification, and workflow assistance, while validating outputs for accuracy and compliance


Shift Requirements

  • Work in rotational night shifts based on business requirements


Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist in updating process documentation when workflows change

  • Support training and knowledge-sharing activities within the team

  • Contribute to maintaining consistency across recurring operational tasks

  • Participate in initiatives aimed at reducing errors and improving efficiency


Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline preferred


Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in clinical domain or healthcare operations

  • Experience in U.S. healthcare RCM processes preferred

  • Experience handling operational workflows with SOP adherence

  • Experience maintaining documentation, logs, and operational records
