Job Title: Animal Research Associate/Technician

We are currently seeking an experienced Animal Research Associate/Technician to support our in vivo research projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Daily care of research animals (primarily laboratory mice, with potential for rats and other rodents).
  • Health monitoring (body weight measurements), tumor measurements, and in vivo data collection.
  • Dosing animals via various methods (IP, IV, SC, and PO).
  • Collecting organ samples, including tail or retro-orbital bleeding, cardiac bleeding, and tissue extraction.
  • Working in a barrier facility and using proper PPE.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school degree or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Experience: Several years of experience in a small to medium-scale animal care facility.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory rodents.
  • Proficiency in compound dosing and sample collection for PK/PD.
  • Competency in data entry on a laptop computer.
  • Availability to work variable schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Experience in surgical techniques and/or in vivo disease models is highly desired.
  • AALAS certification (ALAT or higher) preferred.
  • Strong record-keeping and troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to meet strict timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, team environment.
  • Knowledge of sanitizing and disinfecting cages per AAALAC standards.
