Role Summary: As a Scribe-X medical scribe, you play a crucial role in the patient care team, working closely with healthcare providers across various specialties to document patient encounters in real time. You will undergo rigorous training to ensure you are fully prepared to support your designated provider(s). This role provides valuable experience, mentorship, and support, helping you advance your career in healthcare.

Essential Duties:

  • Chart Preparation: Follow clinic protocols for preparing patient charts.
  • Patient Visits: Accompany providers during all scheduled patient visits.
  • Documentation: Accurately document patient history, physical exams, procedures, and patient plans as performed by the provider.
  • Quality Metrics: Remind providers of relevant quality metrics when appropriate and document to support these metrics.
  • Order Entry: Enter laboratory, radiographic studies, and medication orders as dictated by the provider.
  • Patient Instructions: Document and print instructions for patients.
  • Chart Review: Review completed charts with the provider between patients or after the shift.
  • Preferences Update: Update provider and clinic preference documents as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Typing Speed: Minimum of 60+ WPM.
  • Availability: Work 30-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 6 pm PST.
  • Work Environment: Must have a HIPAA-compliant workspace to maintain patient information privacy.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English with excellent writing and speaking skills.
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree or 1-2 years of equivalent experience in a related field required; a pre-health career track is strongly preferred. GPA > 3.5 preferred.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology and human anatomy is essential.

Compensation/Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour, based on location, experience, and time commitment.
  • Training: Paid training up to 30.5 hours.
  • Retirement Plan: 401K program eligibility after 12 months.
