Position Overview

As a Medical Scribe, you will play a vital role in the patient care team by working alongside healthcare providers across various specialties. Your real-time documentation of patient encounters will help improve access to care and alleviate provider workload. Scribe-X provides rigorous training, mentorship, and support, equipping you with the skills to excel in this role and advance your healthcare career.


Essential Duties

  • Chart Preparation: Follow clinic protocols for preparing charts.
  • Documentation Support: Accompany providers during patient visits to document history, physical exams, procedures, and treatment plans.
  • Quality Metrics: Remind providers of relevant quality metrics and document appropriately.
  • Order Entry: Enter lab, radiographic studies, and medication orders as dictated by the provider.
  • Patient Instructions: Document and print patient instructions accurately.
  • Chart Review: Collaborate with providers to review completed charts.
  • Preferences Updates: Maintain and update provider and clinic preference documents as needed.

Requirements

Skills & Availability:

  • Typing speed: 60+ WPM.
  • Ability to work 30-40 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM PST).
  • HIPAA-compliant workspace for maintaining patient privacy.
  • Fluent English language proficiency with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 1-2 years of equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Pre-health career track is strongly preferred.
  • GPA: > 3.5 preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $11.00 - $17.00 (based on location, experience, and commitment).
  • Paid Training: Up to 30.5 hours.
