Position Overview

Roche is seeking a Medical Scientific Liaison – Molecular (MSL) to join its Medical & Scientific Affairs team within the Molecular Infectious Disease division.

This field-based role serves as a strategic scientific leader and trusted medical partner for laboratory and clinical stakeholders across the assigned region. The MSL will engage with healthcare professionals, infectious disease clinicians, laboratory directors, and key decision-makers to translate complex molecular and clinical data into meaningful scientific dialogue that improves patient care and informs medical strategy.

The successful candidate will contribute field insights, strengthen scientific partnerships, and support access to innovative molecular diagnostic solutions.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Scientific Engagement

  • Serve as the primary scientific partner for:
    • Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
    • Laboratory directors
    • Infectious disease clinicians
    • Healthcare professionals
    • Clinical stakeholders
    • Medical decision-makers
  • Conduct strategic scientific engagements that support evidence-based medical collaboration.
  • Represent the organization as a credible scientific expert across the assigned region.

Relationship Management

  • Build, develop, and sustain long-term professional relationships with:
    • Laboratory stakeholders
    • Healthcare providers
    • Clinical experts
    • Thought leaders
    • Medical institutions
  • Identify unmet needs, knowledge gaps, and evolving stakeholder priorities.

Insight Generation & Medical Strategy

  • Capture actionable field insights to support:
    • Regional medical strategy
    • Portfolio planning
    • Scientific education initiatives
    • Product access acceleration
    • Customer-centric medical planning
  • Act as the voice of the customer within the medical affairs organization.

Scientific Exchange & Education

  • Deliver compliant, non-promotional scientific education through:
    • In-person scientific interactions
    • Virtual meetings
    • Educational presentations
    • Speaker programs
    • Pipeline and scientific updates
    • PACE educational resources
  • Translate complex molecular and infectious disease data into practical, clinically relevant discussions.
  • Respond appropriately to unsolicited and off-label scientific inquiries.

KOL Mapping & CRM Management

  • Identify emerging scientific leaders and key stakeholders in the assigned region.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of:
    • Scientific engagements
    • Stakeholder interactions
    • Strategic insights
    • CRM records (SFDC)
