Job Overview
EVERSANA is seeking a highly experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) or Senior Medical Science Liaison to support the launch of a newly approved targeted therapy in oncology, with a focus on ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This field-based scientific role is responsible for engaging healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and clinical stakeholders through compliant, evidence-based scientific exchange.

The position serves as a subject matter expert in oncology, facilitating peer-to-peer scientific communication, supporting clinical research initiatives, and strengthening strategic relationships across the East Coast region of the United States. The role also contributes to product launch activities, clinical education, and medical affairs initiatives aligned with regulatory and corporate standards.

This position covers the East Coast territory (Maine to Florida), and candidates should reside near a major airport hub to support extensive travel requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Engagement and Medical Affairs

  • Serve as the primary scientific contact within the assigned territory.

  • Maintain deep expertise in oncology, particularly treatment standards and clinical data related to ALK-positive NSCLC.

  • Conduct compliant, evidence-based scientific exchange with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders.

  • Present clinical data, research findings, and therapeutic insights to clinicians, payers, and formulary committees.

  • Support advisory boards, scientific meetings, and medical education initiatives.

  • Provide medical insights and field intelligence to internal stakeholders.

Key Opinion Leader (KOL) Management

  • Identify, develop, and maintain long-term relationships with regional and national KOLs.

  • Develop strategic KOL engagement plans and track collaboration outcomes.

  • Support investigator-sponsored research and clinical trial initiatives.

  • Conduct pre-launch profiling of institutions and treatment centers to enhance market understanding.

Clinical Research and Product Support

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of clinical protocols, study outcomes, and product data.

  • Respond to unsolicited medical information requests and document interactions.

  • Collaborate with research and development teams to support clinical trial sites and investigators.

  • Provide internal training, clinical insights, and medical education to cross-functional teams.

Territory and Compliance Management

  • Manage assigned territory operations and strategic development activities.

  • Represent medical affairs at scientific congresses and industry meetings.

  • Prepare internal reports and insights from scientific events and stakeholder engagements.

  • Ensure strict compliance with regulatory guidelines, corporate policies, and industry standards.

Experience Required

Medical Science Liaison (MSL)

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison.

  • At least 1 year of experience in oncology, rare diseases, or immunology.

  • Working knowledge of gene therapy and targeted therapies preferred.

Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL)

  • Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience.

  • At least 3 years of experience in oncology, rare disease, or immunology.

Additional Experience Requirements

  • Prior product launch experience required.

  • Experience with targeted oncology therapies strongly preferred.

  • Experience engaging with payer systems and healthcare decision-makers is desirable.

  • Familiarity with oncology research networks, cooperative groups, and clinical institutions preferred.

Educational Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific or clinical degree required (PharmD, PhD, MD, MSN, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant).

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong scientific, clinical, and business acumen in oncology.

  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical and scientific data.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, networking, and relationship management skills.

  • Strong presentation and scientific communication abilities.

  • Understanding of healthcare systems, clinical research, and value-based care models.

  • Ability to work independently in a field-based environment.

  • High level of compliance awareness and ethical conduct.

  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 70%) with frequent overnight stays.

Work Environment and Expectations

  • Remote field-based role covering the East Coast region of the United States.

  • Frequent travel required for stakeholder engagement, conferences, and clinical site visits.

  • Cross-functional collaboration with medical affairs, research, and commercial teams.
