Position Overview

As a Field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Laboratory, you will act as a clinical and scientific expert supporting education, communication, and collaboration between The Binding Site and healthcare professionals.

You will build and maintain strong relationships with laboratorians, clinicians, professional organizations, and patient advocacy groups—helping advance the use of Binding Site’s diagnostic solutions, including the upcoming EXENT™ MALDI-TOF Mass Spectrometer.


Key Responsibilities

1. Scientific and Clinical Engagement

  • Serve as the primary scientific liaison between The Binding Site and laboratory or health system customers.

  • Deliver virtual and in-person scientific presentations to key opinion leaders, clinicians, laboratory directors, C-suite executives, and healthcare professionals.

  • Implement and execute a KOL engagement strategy to align with scientific and commercial objectives.

  • Represent the company at regional and national conferences, trade shows, and scientific meetings.

2. Scientific Support and Consultation

  • Provide on-the-ground scientific expertise to internal teams including sales, marketing, and medical affairs.

  • Support clinical studies and scientific collaborations aligned with business goals and customer needs.

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all Binding Site diagnostic products—covering analytical performance, clinical applications, manufacturing, and QA standards.

  • Respond to off-label or technical inquiries in compliance with healthcare regulations and company policy.

3. Strategic Partnership Development

  • Build and strengthen relationships with clinical and laboratory leaders to enhance product adoption and ensure excellent scientific support.

  • Collect and communicate customer feedback to guide product development and strategic initiatives.


Qualifications

Education

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD, NP, or PA required)

  • Strong background in immunology, hematology/oncology, or mass spectrometry/biochemistry (highly preferred).

Experience

  • Minimum 1+ years in healthcare, life sciences, or diagnostics industry.

  • Proven experience in clinical, hospital, or laboratory environments.

  • Demonstrated success in customer-facing or scientific education roles.

  • Experience delivering scientific presentations, writing manuscripts, and analyzing data.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Exceptional customer focus and communication (verbal and written).

  • Strong scientific acumen and ability to translate complex data clearly.

  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Ability to travel 25–75%, including occasional weekend and international travel.


Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for 6–8 hours daily.

  • Regular use of hands for computer and phone tasks.

  • Ability to lift/move up to 20 lbs (e.g., luggage, demo equipment).

  • Extended travel periods by car or airplane may be required.

  • Standard vision and hearing capabilities for presentations and travel.


Compensation and Benefits

Estimated Salary Range (Colorado):

💰 $90,900 – $125,000 annually
