Compensation: $150,000 – $175,000 base salary plus bonus

Position Summary

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is pivotal in advancing Avita Medical's clinical and commercial objectives. The MSL will build strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), support clinical research initiatives, and serve as a bridge between complex scientific data and healthcare professionals.

As an integral part of the team, the MSL will contribute to conference activities, publication planning, and the development of marketing and educational tools.


Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate awareness of Avita Medical’s skin regeneration products within key accounts across acute wound care (burns and soft tissue reconstruction).
  • Attend industry conferences (burns, trauma, plastics) to gather competitive and clinical insights.
  • Identify and engage with key opinion leaders in the acute wound care sector.
  • Promote abstract submissions and content creation for podium and poster presentations.
  • Contribute to publication planning and manuscript submissions for scientific journals.
  • Collaborate with HCPs on investigator-initiated research protocols and studies.
  • Assist the commercial team by translating complex clinical data into effective marketing tools.
  • Support sales training, customer meetings, and device training as needed.
  • Develop and review clinical study protocols for company-sponsored research and pre-clinical studies.
  • Address HCP inquiries and foster peer-to-peer communication.
  • Provide feedback for product design and usability based on voice of customer (VOC) insights.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Advanced degree in medical field, life sciences, or public health (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in clinical education, clinical research, MSL, or medical affairs roles.
  • Expertise in medical writing (study protocols, abstracts, posters, and manuscripts).
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and clinical research processes.
  • Familiarity with skin cell biology and wound healing models.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Understanding of aseptic technique, operating room protocols, and bloodborne pathogen safety.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred:

  • Experience in acute wound management (burn injuries, soft tissue injuries).

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base Salary: $150,000 – $175,000.
