Job Title: Medical Science Liaison

Position Overview:

Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) are responsible for engaging in non-promotional, peer-to-peer communications and providing critical medical and scientific information to Scientific Leaders (SLs) and Key Decision Makers (KDMs).

Key Responsibilities:

Engagement with External Leaders:

  • Facilitate non-promotional, peer-to-peer exchanges of medical and scientific information with SLs or KDMs, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Gain insights into disease areas, therapeutic needs, and healthcare challenges within local geographies.
  • Represent Medical Affairs at local and regional non-promotional medical events, including Medical Congresses and Symposia, coordinating pre-event and post-event scientific information.
  • Respond to unsolicited requests for medical, scientific, or product information from SLs or KDMs using approved scientific materials.
  • Direct SLs or KDMs to appropriate company resources for information on research and grant activities.
  • Organize and participate in medical and scientific exchange activities, including hospital lectures, journal clubs, expert forums, and advisory boards.
  • Provide medical and scientific support for Health Technology Assessments and formulary decisions.

Internal Support:

  • Develop and implement regional Medical Affairs plans and activities.
  • Identify potential study investigators for sponsored studies as requested by the clinical trials organization.
  • Gather insights from scientific exchanges to inform development programs and company strategy.
  • Support commercial teams by providing scientific training related to disease states and product information.
  • Contribute to patient access programs through scientific support.

Tasks:

  • Collaborate with Medical Advisors and other MSLs in therapeutic areas (TAs) and across TAs.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and exchange with external TA colleagues.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or a medical degree.
  • Relevant pharmaceutical experience, with a preference for experience in Medical Affairs.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in assigned therapeutic areas and clinical trial methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in peer-to-peer scientific exchanges and provide valuable insights to internal stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication skills, with strong listening and probing abilities across diverse audiences.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure.
  • Leadership skills, including cross-functional alignment and cooperation.
  • Strategic thinking and project management proficiency.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
