Role Overview:
Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to serve as the scientific and medical voice for ADC products and therapeutic areas in North California, Nevada, and Hawaii. This field-based role focuses on engaging healthcare professionals and key stakeholders to provide expert medical guidance, facilitate scientific exchange, and support professional development initiatives.

The MSL will strengthen ADC’s scientific credibility, enabling collaboration with national and regional thought leaders, healthcare providers, and healthcare organizations. This role also involves supporting the US commercial team with scientific insights while maintaining the highest level of medical and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical and scientific leadership to establish and maintain credible relationships with thought leaders and external experts in ADC therapeutic areas.

  • Facilitate research, educational initiatives, and scientific discussions at academic centers and professional meetings.

  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for scientific information requests from healthcare providers and thought leaders.

  • Deliver evidence-based presentations and engage in scientific dialogue with healthcare professionals individually or in group settings.

  • Participate in identifying and collaborating with qualified thought leaders for advisory boards, symposia, and congresses.

  • Attend relevant scientific conferences and meetings, providing insights to inform ADC strategic priorities.

  • Support the development and publication of scientific materials and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, guidelines, and company policies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health sciences field is required.

  • Advanced degree (PharmD, MD/DO, NP/DNP, PA, PhD) preferred; candidates with relevant undergraduate degrees and demonstrated experience will be considered.

  • Current clinical licensure and board certification (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, Pharmacist) in accordance with state and national regulations.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a health sciences field, preferably with exposure to clinical research, medical affairs, or related scientific roles.

Compensation:

  • Base salary range: $111,300 – $222,700. Compensation may vary by location.
