Position Overview

EMD Serono is seeking a highly skilled Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Fertility to join our Medical Affairs team. This field-based role is focused on the South Central U.S. region and is essential for building scientific credibility, engaging with key opinion leaders (KOLs), and providing critical insights to drive strategic decision-making. The MSL will serve as a subject matter expert in reproductive medicine and fertility, fostering collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals while supporting the development and execution of medical initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Engagement & Expertise

  • Provide advanced scientific, clinical, and educational support to healthcare professionals, academic thought leaders, and community decision-makers.

  • Deliver state-of-the-art research and clinical information on fertility and reproductive medicine through one-to-one interactions and group educational activities.

  • Serve as a trusted scientific resource for internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Relationship Management & Advocacy

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with KOLs and clinical influencers within the fertility landscape.

  • Represent EMD Serono at medical meetings, conferences, and professional events.

  • Act as a liaison between investigators and Medical Affairs for Investigator Sponsored Studies (ISS).

Strategic & Operational Support

  • Contribute insights to clinical development, research initiatives, and medical strategy.

  • Coordinate regional Medical Affairs activities, ensuring alignment with national initiatives.

  • Maintain territory-specific HCP profiles, visit documentation, and monitor budget expenditures.

  • Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.

Travel Requirements

  • Approximately 80% regional travel, including overnight trips, national meetings, and occasional international conferences.


Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications

  • PharmD, PhD, MD, DO with 2+ years of relevant experience
    OR
    NP/PA with 3+ years of relevant clinical or medical affairs experience.

  • Expertise in reproductive medicine and fertility.

  • Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to translate complex scientific and clinical information to diverse audiences.

  • Reside within, or willing to relocate to, the South Central U.S. territory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of clinical or pharmaceutical experience in fertility (required for Senior MSL).

  • Prior field MSL or equivalent experience (e.g., nurse clinical liaison).

  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration, provide mentorship, and drive results in cross-functional teams.

  • Proven adaptability, innovation, and ethical decision-making in dynamic environments.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary Range: USD 157,100 – 235,700 (dependent on experience, location, and qualifications)

  • Eligible for performance-based or sales incentives
