Position Overview

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you will act as a scientific expert and key point of contact between Bayer and the medical community. You will engage with Thought Leaders (TLs) to exchange scientific information, provide education on Bayer’s products, and support clinical and scientific initiatives within your assigned therapeutic area — primarily Diabetology.


Key Responsibilities

1. Scientific Exchange and Information Dissemination

  • Proactively and reactively engage with Thought Leaders (TLs – Physicians) to share scientific, clinical, and educational content.

  • Clarify study data, protocols, publications, and abstracts, addressing both on-label (proactive) and off-label (reactive, unsolicited) queries in accordance with local regulations.

2. Medical Societies & Advisory Boards

  • Respond to medical and scientific inquiries from medical societies.

  • Organize, support, and participate in Advisory Board meetings and initiatives related to Bayer’s products.

3. Congresses & Professional Networking

  • Represent Bayer at medical congresses and conventions.

  • Network with key stakeholders, strengthen professional relationships, and gather competitive insights.

4. Scientific Education & Training

  • Plan and conduct educational events or training sessions with TLs in the assigned therapeutic area.

  • Support external scientific training initiatives as needed.

5. TL Mapping & Strategic Engagement

  • Contribute to identification, profiling, and segmentation of TLs.

  • Develop and implement strategic engagement plans aligned with the Medical Affairs Plan.

6. Reporting & Activity Tracking

  • Submit timely and detailed reports.

  • Track interactions, engagements, and progress against objectives.


Who You Are

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational background in natural sciences or medical sciences:

    • MD, MBBS, BAMS, BDS, or MDS

  • Basic knowledge of Diabetology and related molecules.

  • Understanding of clinical trial design and rationale.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication skills — both verbal and written.

  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
