Job Overview

Bayer is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Diabetes Care to join its Medical Affairs team in India. This role is ideal for freshers with a strong medical background who are passionate about scientific exchange, clinical research, and stakeholder engagement. The MSL will serve as a scientific expert, building credible partnerships with healthcare professionals and supporting evidence-based use of Bayer’s pharmaceutical products.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

Scientific Exchange and Knowledge Dissemination

  • Plan, prepare, and engage with Thought Leaders (Doctors) as a scientific partner.

  • Proactively and reactively share scientific, educational, and research-based information in compliance with local regulations.

  • Provide clear and accurate communication on scientific data, clinical study protocols, congress abstracts, and peer-reviewed literature.

  • Address unsolicited off-label queries in line with regulatory and compliance guidelines.

Engagement with Medical Societies and Advisory Boards

  • Respond to medical and scientific queries from Medical Societies related to Bayer products.

  • Organize, support, and participate in advisory board meetings.

Congress and Conference Participation

  • Attend national and regional congresses and conventions.

  • Network with healthcare professionals, establish new scientific relationships, and gather competitive and therapeutic area insights.

Scientific Education and Training Activities

  • Plan and coordinate scientific training programs and educational sessions with Thought Leaders within the assigned therapeutic area.

  • Support continuing medical education initiatives aligned with the Medical Affairs strategy.

Thought Leader Identification and Engagement Planning

  • Identify, profile, and segment Thought Leaders in alignment with the Medical Affairs and product strategy.

  • Contribute to internal understanding of expert interests, clinical practice trends, and unmet medical needs.

Reporting and Activity Tracking

  • Prepare and submit timely activity reports.

  • Track engagements and outcomes against defined objectives and performance metrics.

Secondary Responsibilities

External Scientific Support

  • Provide additional scientific training, education, and support to external stakeholders as required.


Candidate Profile

Educational Qualifications

  • Medical degree such as MD, MBBS, BDS, or MDS.

Experience

  • Fresher candidates are encouraged to apply.

  • Prior exposure through internships, academic projects, or clinical research activities is an advantage.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic understanding of therapeutic areas such as Diabetes, Chronic Kidney Disease, or Oncology.

  • Foundational knowledge of clinical trials, study design, and clinical research rationale.

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.

  • Capability to build professional relationships with internal teams and external healthcare stakeholders.
