Position Overview

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) acts as a scientific expert and field-based liaison to healthcare professionals, providing evidence-based information, clinical education, and supporting Bayer’s research and medical strategies in Diabetes Care and CKM. This role involves building strong relationships with Thought Leaders (TLs), attending congresses, conducting medical education sessions, and supporting scientific communication and strategy execution aligned with the Medical Affairs plan.


Key Responsibilities

1. Scientific Engagement & Education

  • Proactively and reactively engage with Thought Leaders (Doctors) to disseminate scientific and clinical data

  • Provide clarification and education on Bayer products, study protocols, abstracts, and literature

  • Respond to unsolicited off-label inquiries in compliance with local regulations

2. Advisory Boards & Medical Society Collaboration

  • Organize or participate in advisory board meetings

  • Address queries from medical societies related to Bayer’s therapeutic portfolio

3. Congresses & Networking

  • Represent Bayer at medical congresses, establish new TL contacts, and gather competitive intelligence

4. Scientific Training Programs

  • Plan and execute scientific training and education sessions related to therapeutic areas and products

5. TL Strategy & Segmentation

  • Contribute to the profiling, segmentation, and strategic engagement planning for key opinion leaders

6. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain timely reporting and activity tracking aligned with objectives


Secondary Responsibilities

  • Provide external scientific training and education beyond primary engagements as needed


Qualifications

  • Degree in natural sciences or medical disciplines (MD/MBBS/BDS/BAMS/MDS)

  • Basic knowledge of Diabetes Care and related therapies

  • Familiarity with clinical trial design and rationale

  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Capable of independent work and collaboration within cross-functional teams
