Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Haematology & Oncology

Role Summary

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as a trusted scientific partner, engaging with healthcare professionals, thought leaders, and key stakeholders to advance medical knowledge, support evidence-based clinical practice, and ensure the appropriate use of company therapies.

This is a field-based role requiring approximately 60–70% external stakeholder engagement.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific & Medical Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with Thought Leaders (TLs), Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), and access stakeholders.

  • Conduct scientific discussions on disease management, clinical data, company products, and HEOR evidence.

  • Respond to unsolicited medical inquiries in a compliant and scientifically balanced manner.

  • Deliver scientific presentations through one-on-one meetings, group discussions, and virtual engagements.

Stakeholder & Account Management

  • Develop and execute medical engagement plans for key accounts (Army, Railways, CGHS, etc.).

  • Understand stakeholder needs and align activities with medical strategy.

  • Continuously assess the medical landscape, treatment trends, unmet needs, and competitor activities.

  • Gather actionable medical insights and communicate them to internal stakeholders.

Medical Strategy Execution

  • Develop territory-level field medical plans aligned with therapeutic area objectives.

  • Support implementation of country medical strategies and initiatives.

  • Contribute to cross-functional account planning and medical projects.

  • Assist in the development and delivery of scientific programs and educational activities.

Internal Medical Support

  • Provide scientific and medical training to internal teams, including:

    • Commercial

    • Regulatory Affairs

    • Pharmacovigilance

    • Market Access

    • Legal

    • HEOR Teams

  • Deliver scientific updates and therapeutic area knowledge.

  • Support promotional meetings by presenting balanced scientific and clinical evidence.

  • Assist in evaluating and supporting company-contracted speakers.

Compliance & Pharmacovigilance

  • Report adverse events and safety information in accordance with company SOPs.

  • Ensure all activities comply with medical, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or related healthcare field.

  • Experience in Medical Affairs, Medical Science Liaison, Clinical Research, or Oncology/Haematology.

  • Strong scientific knowledge and understanding of clinical research.

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key external experts and healthcare professionals.
