Role Summary
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as a scientific and medical expert representing Bristol Myers Squibb in the Haematology & Oncology therapeutic area.
The role focuses on developing trusted scientific relationships with healthcare professionals, thought leaders, and key healthcare stakeholders while supporting the appropriate use of BMS therapies through evidence-based scientific exchange.
This is a highly field-oriented role, with approximately 60–70% of time spent engaging external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
External Scientific Engagement
Develop and maintain relationships with:

Conduct scientific discussions through:
One-to-one meetings
Group presentations
Virtual engagements
Address unsolicited scientific and product-related questions.
Communicate clinical and HEOR (Health Economics & Outcomes Research) data in a balanced and compliant manner.
Territory & Account Planning
Develop territory-specific Field Medical Plans.
Create stakeholder engagement plans aligned with:
Medical strategy
Therapeutic area priorities
Local healthcare needs
Execute medical activities supporting country medical objectives.
Support key institutional accounts including:
Army healthcare systems
Railways
CGHS
Other strategic healthcare institutions
Scientific Expertise & Medical Insights
Maintain deep expertise in:
Haematology
Oncology
Disease management
Clinical trials
Competitive landscape
Continuously assess unmet medical needs and emerging scientific evidence.
Gather actionable medical insights from stakeholders.
Share insights with Medical Affairs and Commercial teams to support strategic decision-making.
Medical Plan Execution
Contribute to development and implementation of local medical plans.
Support scientifically meaningful projects and medical initiatives.
Participate in cross-functional institution and account planning activities.
Ensure alignment between field insights and organizational strategy.
Internal Scientific Support
Support training and education of internal stakeholders including:
Commercial teams
Regulatory Affairs
Pharmacovigilance
Market Access
Legal teams
Deliver scientific updates and therapeutic area education.
Provide medical expertise during scientific and promotional meetings when appropriate.
