Position Overview:
The role involves reviewing clinical documentation to accurately assign universal medical codes, ensuring uniform documentation across medical facilities. The candidate will be responsible for transforming diagnoses, procedures, medical services, and equipment into standardized alphanumeric codes, supporting efficient healthcare record-keeping and reporting.
Primary Responsibilities:
Review clinical statements and patient documentation to understand diagnoses.
Transform healthcare diagnoses, procedures, medical services, and equipment into universal medical codes (ICD, CPT, etc.).
Create a uniform vocabulary to describe causes of injury, illness, and death.
Ensure uniform documentation across healthcare facilities for accurate medical records.
Maintain coding accuracy and compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
0–1 year of experience in any healthcare BPO.
University degree or equivalent with 3+ years of formal study in Life Sciences, BPT, Pharmacy, Nursing, or related field.
Good knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
At least 1 year of experience using Windows PC applications, including keyboard navigation and learning new software tools.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding standards.
Ability to follow scheduled shifts (Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM IST; shifts may change as per client requirements).
Flexibility to work overtime or on weekends as needed.
Effective oral and written communication skills in English for client interactions.
Attention to detail and accuracy in coding and documentation.
Work Conditions:
Shift-based work in a BPO environment.
May require flexible working hours and occasional weekend work.
