Position Overview

Pediatric Associates is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our team in Boerne, TX. This is a patient-facing role responsible for greeting patients and visitors in a friendly manner, updating necessary information, collecting payments, and providing follow-up details after appointments. As part of a supportive and welcoming team, you’ll help manage front-office operations and ensure a smooth patient experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Check-in patients: Update demographics, insurance info, collect co-pays, and provide necessary health questionnaires.
  • Check-out patients: Collect balances, provide visit summaries, referral information, patient portal info, completed forms, and follow-up appointments.
  • Verify insurance: Check eligibility and ensure the correct PCP. Contact patients whose insurance is inactive.
  • Post charges and payments: Complete charge and payment reconciliation.
  • Document management: Scan and upload documents.
  • Maintain cleanliness: Ensure the work and patient waiting areas remain tidy.
  • Staff participation: Attend educational and staff meetings as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office setting preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Active and valid driver's license required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
    • Ability to work effectively with patients, providers, and staff.
    • Proficiency in using computers, medical terminology, and office equipment.
    • Ability to provide excellent customer service and maintain confidentiality.

Working Conditions

  • Location: Patient-facing, with potential remote/telework options.
  • Travel: 15%-20% travel to other office locations as needed.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Standing, sitting, and lifting up to 10 lbs.
    • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
