Role Overview:

The Medical Coding Analyst will review, analyze, and code medical records according to AMA, AHA, and CMS guidelines. The role involves accurate coding of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for minor surgical procedures, vaccines, laboratory procedures, and screening codes while ensuring compliance with regulatory and client guidelines.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implement updates of AMA, AHA, and CMS coding guidelines.

  • Review and analyze medical records; add or modify CPT codes for minor surgical procedures, vaccines, and laboratory CPT codes.

  • Extract and code various screening CPT codes and HCPCS codes from documentation.

  • Verify NCCI edits, LCD & NCD coverage determinations; modify ICD-10-CM, CPT codes, and modifiers accordingly.

  • Collaborate effectively within the team to maintain quality and productivity.

  • Organize and prioritize work to ensure timely coding and resolution of edits under general supervision.

  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure security of patient data in compliance with HIPAA policies.

  • Comply with employment terms, company policies, and any directives related to work location, team changes, shifts, or alternative work arrangements.


Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate with a Life Sciences background.

  • Certified coder through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CCS, CIC, or COC).

  • Provide valid certification proof with identification number during the interview or offer process.

  • Experience: 0.6 to 5 years (freshers with certification considered).

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology.

  • Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines.

  • Knowledge of system security policies and procedures for data protection.
