Medical Lead - Solid Tumors
Location: Santiago, Chile
Division: International | Business Unit: Innovative Medicines

Novartis is seeking a Medical Lead to spearhead Medical Affairs plans for Solid Tumors. This role focuses on advancing scientific dialogue, designing and executing clinical studies, and fostering collaboration with key stakeholders, including regulatory partners and healthcare professionals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Medical Strategy & Insights:
    • Develop and implement Medical Affairs plans tailored to local needs for Solid Tumors.
    • Provide medical and scientific input into clinical trials and research activities.
    • Ensure timely, high-quality responses to medical inquiries, creating standardized documents for frequently asked questions.
  • Evidence Generation & Review:
    • Support Non-Interventional Studies (NIS) and Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs).
    • Coordinate the review and approval of medical and promotional materials, ensuring compliance with local and global guidelines.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Deliver medical insights to Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, QA, and Commercial teams.
    • Partner with brand and cross-functional teams to align strategies and support decision-making.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify risks, plan mitigation strategies, and implement controls for sustained compliance.
  • External Engagement:
    • Establish and strengthen partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Education:
    • University degree in Life Sciences (mandatory).
    • Medical Doctor (MD) highly desirable.
  • Experience:
    • Proven track record in medical roles, preferably within oncology and the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in English and Spanish.
    • Strategic mindset, cross-functional collaboration, and ability to lead in a matrix environment.
    • Agile learning and adaptability to dynamic challenges.
  • Field Work:
    • Availability to conduct up to 30% field work.
