🧭 Position Overview
The Medical Laboratory Technician performs routine analysis and laboratory testing procedures to ensure accurate and timely data for research studies. The role maintains compliance with regulatory standards while supporting lab operations and mentoring entry-level staff.
⚙️ Key Responsibilities
Perform and document analytical procedures according to SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
Conduct routine data analysis to ensure accuracy and acceptable tolerances; escalate unusual results to senior staff.
Upload analysis results to LIMS systems under supervision.
Support quality investigations, deviation resolution, and procedural updates as required.
Prepare buffers, solutions, and reagents for laboratory analyses.
Train and mentor entry-level staff, assisting with onboarding and hands-on training.
Maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration and troubleshooting.
Collaborate on cross-functional projects and ensure clear, timely communication.
🎓 Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology, or cytotechnology.
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted.
Licensure
MLT License required.
Experience
Minimum 6 months in a regulated laboratory environment (preferred).
Technical Skills
Proficiency with laboratory techniques and equipment, including automation.
Knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control, and GLP standards.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting and close eye work (e.g., computer use, reading small print).
Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.
Core Competencies
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Problem-solving skills and teamwork orientation.
