JOB OVERVIEW

The Medical Information Written Response Agent provides accurate, evidence-based written medical and safety information to healthcare professionals, patients, and consumers. The role involves responding to unsolicited medical inquiries, preparing customized written responses, documenting adverse events and product complaints, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining high-quality medical information services for pharmaceutical clients.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Medical Information Services

  • Respond to unsolicited medical and safety inquiries received via:

    • Email

    • Website

    • Telephone

    • Letter

    • Fax

    • Scientific meetings

  • Provide both labeled and off-label (unlabeled) medical information in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

  • Prepare accurate, scientifically balanced written medical responses using approved resources.

Medical Writing & Scientific Communication

  • Draft and customize medical information responses using:

    • Approved product labeling

    • Standard response documents

    • Published scientific literature

    • Internal medical resources

  • Ensure responses are clear, accurate, and compliant.

Pharmacovigilance & Safety Reporting

  • Identify, document, and report:

    • Adverse Events (AEs)

    • Pregnancy reports

    • Special Situation Events

    • Product Quality Complaints (PQCs)

  • Ensure compliance with global pharmacovigilance regulations, SOPs, and client working practices.

Documentation & Inquiry Management

  • Log all medical inquiries accurately into inquiry handling systems.

  • Maintain complete, timely, and audit-ready documentation.

  • Meet turnaround times defined in SOPs and client agreements.

Quality Assurance

  • Perform quality checks on:

    • Adverse event reports

    • Product quality complaints

    • Medical correspondence

    • Inquiry documentation

  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.

Compliance & Data Privacy

  • Adhere to:

    • Company SOPs

    • Client procedures

    • Health and safety policies

    • Data privacy regulations

  • Maintain confidentiality of customer and client information.

Operational Support

  • Participate in rotating after-hours medical information coverage as required.

  • Support additional medical information activities assigned by management.


EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Required

One of the following:

  • Life Sciences degree

  • Nursing degree (RN/BS/BA/MS)

  • Pharmacy degree


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Preferred

Experience in one or more of:

  • Medical Information

  • Medical Writing

  • Pharmacovigilance

  • Drug Safety

  • Clinical Research

  • Medical Communications

  • Healthcare Customer Support
