Position Summary

As a Medical Information Specialist, you will serve on the frontlines of scientific and clinical communication. You will be part of the Medical Information Contact Center (MICC) team, providing non-promotional, scientifically accurate, and balanced responses to medical inquiries from healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and payers.

Your role will also include identifying and documenting adverse events (AEs) and product complaints (PCs), medical writing, and supporting post-market surveillance and compliance activities. You will support multiple pharmaceutical clients, therapeutic areas, and communication channels.


Key Responsibilities

🔍 Medical Information Services

  • Respond to unsolicited inquiries from healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and payers across phone, email, chat, CRM, and other platforms.

  • Conduct literature research and critically evaluate medical/scientific data to formulate accurate, evidence-based responses.

  • Draft or assist in drafting Medical Information response documents, such as:

    • FAQs

    • Scientific Response Documents (SRDs)

    • Custom Response Documents (CRDs)

🧾 Adverse Event & Product Complaint Intake

  • Identify and document AEs and PCs during customer interactions.

  • Generate reports in compliance with FDA post-marketing regulations and internal SOPs.

  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs teams on product quality-related issues.

✍️ Medical Writing & Content Development

  • Assist with content creation and updates for standard and custom responses.

  • Collaborate with medical writing teams to maintain accurate and up-to-date response libraries.

  • Contribute to training materials, medical booth staffing, and special content projects as needed.

💼 Cross-Functional & Client Engagement

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of therapeutic areas, client-specific products, and processes.

  • Participate in client or internal projects related to medical communications, competitive research, and MICC process improvements.

  • Fulfill on-call responsibilities as assigned.

📌 Other Duties

  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by leadership.

  • Ensure consistent quality, documentation, and customer service excellence across all activities.


Required & Preferred Qualifications

🎓 Education

  • Preferred: Advanced healthcare degree (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD)

  • Required: Degree in Life Sciences or related healthcare field

🛡️ Licensure

  • Preferred: Valid Pharmacist License

💼 Experience

  • Experience in Medical Information, Contact Centers, or Pharmaceutical Industry

  • Strong knowledge of therapeutic areas such as Oncology, Immunology, Rare Diseases, Neurology, or Cardiology

  • Prior experience with medical writing or drug information is highly desirable

🖥️ Technology & Tools

  • Proficiency in:

    • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

    • Telephony and CRM systems

    • Medical Information databases

    • Video conferencing platforms
