About the Role

IQVIA is seeking an experienced Medical Director – Neurology to provide medical, clinical, and scientific leadership across global and regional projects. This role combines Medical Monitoring responsibilities with strategic medical input for business development initiatives. The position is ideal for senior medical professionals looking to make a significant impact in clinical development and therapeutic innovation within neurology.


Key Responsibilities

Medical Monitoring

  • Serve as Global and/or Regional Medical Advisor for assigned clinical studies.

  • Act as Scientific Advisor to Project Leaders on medical and scientific aspects of ongoing trials.

  • Provide medical support to investigative sites, including guidance on eligibility, safety issues, and protocol clarifications.

  • Review study protocols, Investigational Drug Brochures (IDB), and Case Report Forms (CRFs).

  • Deliver therapeutic area and indication training for clinical teams.

  • Participate in Investigator Meetings and provide scientific presentations.

  • Review Adverse Events (AEs), Serious Adverse Events (SAEs), and contribute to safety analyses in collaboration with Pharmacovigilance.

  • Support the medical review of Clinical Study Reports (CSR) and patient narratives.

  • Attend study kick-off meetings, team calls, and client discussions.

  • Provide 24/7 availability for urgent protocol queries from investigative sites, in accordance with local labor regulations.

Medical Strategy

  • Contribute medical expertise in the development of strategies for multi-regional clinical studies.

  • Support business development by reviewing proposals, protocols, feasibility, and site selection strategies.

  • Participate in bid defense meetings and strategic client presentations.

  • Stay updated on scientific, clinical, regulatory, competitive, and commercial developments in neurology.

  • Represent IQVIA in internal meetings, industry forums, and professional engagements.

  • Travel regionally and internationally when required.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited, internationally recognized medical school.

  • Minimum 5 years of clinical medicine experience.

  • Board Certification in Neurology (mandatory).

  • Ideally 2+ years of clinical trials experience as a principal investigator or medical/clinical expert in Pharma, Biotech, or CRO organizations.

  • Strong understanding of the neurology therapeutic landscape.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

  • Strong command of English (written and spoken).
