Overall Job Purpose:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) - Oncology is a field-based medical professional with in-depth knowledge in Oncology and expertise in Lilly’s and competitor compounds. The MSL acts as a vital link between scientific experts and Lilly, providing critical insights and feedback to inform Lilly’s research and commercialization strategies. The MSL’s role is to facilitate scientific exchange, answering important clinical and scientific questions to shape the future of healthcare.

This role will cover 2 zones in India: West & South, with the successful candidate based in Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, or Chennai.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and Communicate Deep Scientific Knowledge:
- Engage in continuous learning to maintain expertise in Oncology.
- Serve as a trusted resource for customers, answering complex scientific and medical questions with up-to-date and peer-credible information.
Customer Engagement & Scientific Information Support:
- Build strong relationships with scientific experts and provide advanced disease state and product information.
- Act as an interface between Lilly and scientific experts, providing solutions for customer inquiries and exploring opportunities for collaboration or research.
Strategic Vision & Leadership:
- Synthesize complex data and communicate meaningful clinical insights to Lilly's medical and cross-functional teams.
- Use creative problem-solving and decision-making skills to contribute to strategic planning.
Territory Ownership:
- Plan and prioritize MSL activities strategically for maximum impact and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external procedures and regulations, demonstrating good judgment in all tasks.

Key Competencies & Selection Criteria:

Experience:
- Previous MSL or field-based experience in building relationships with Scientific Experts or Key Opinion Leaders is highly desired.
- 2-3 years of relevant clinical or therapeutic area experience with an advanced degree in health sciences (PharmD, MD, PhD).
- A Master's or Bachelor's degree in health sciences with 8+ years of clinical, research, or medical/scientific experience can also be considered.

- Intellectual curiosity in the field of science/medicine.
- Ability to communicate complex scientific content effectively and concisely.
- Self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities in the field.
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and networking skills.
- Advanced presentation, computer, and literature identification skills.
- Ability to think strategically and critically, evaluating information and its relevance.
Communication:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use electronic tools for field-based communication and operations.
