Job Summary:
ICON plc, a global leader in clinical research and healthcare intelligence, is hiring a Medical Coding Specialist II for a remote position based in India. This role requires expertise in MedDRA and WHODD coding for clinical trial data. You’ll contribute to critical drug development projects by ensuring accurate, consistent medical coding in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform medical coding in alignment with company SOPs and departmental guidelines.
Generate and manage queries for clarification of potential data discrepancies.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Medical Monitors, Clinical, and Data Management groups.
Conduct data coding consistency reviews and assist with SAE reconciliation as required.
Engage in set-up activities, including dictionary upgrades and ATC coding.
Utilize Medidata Rave and other coding systems for efficient processing.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience as a medical coder in clinical research.
Proficiency in MedDRA and WHODD coding dictionaries.
Familiarity with Medidata Rave and ATC coding systems.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical trial processes, and coding standards.
Experience with dictionary upgrades and set-up activities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, team-oriented environment.
