Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Outpatient Medical Coder / Senior Coder with active coding certifications (CPC, CPC-A, CIC, CCS, or COC). The role requires strong expertise in ICD and CPT coding, ensuring accurate and compliant assignment of codes after reviewing medical records. The ideal candidate will validate coding, maintain proper sequencing, and comply with government and insurance regulations while supporting quality patient care and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Assign accurate ICD (diagnosis) and CPT (procedure) codes for outpatient medical records.
Validate coding accuracy and proper sequencing in compliance with regulations.
Follow up with providers for missing or unclear documentation.
Communicate with clinical staff regarding documentation requirements.
Research complex or unusual coding scenarios.
Review patient charts and documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Evaluate previous day’s batch of patient notes for coding quality.
Ensure all codes are current and active according to coding standards.

Requirements:

Experience: 3–7 years in Medical Coding (Outpatient preferred).
Education: Any Graduate.
Certifications: Active AHIMA or AAPC certification (CPC, CPC-A, CIC, CCS, or COC).
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Skilled in assigning ICD-10 and CPT codes accurately.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and adapt to changing business requirements.
Flexible to work from office and remotely, as per business needs.
