R1 RCM is hiring Certified Medical Coding Freshers for Inpatient (IP) and Outpatient (OP) Medical Coding roles in Hyderabad. This opportunity is ideal for newly certified medical coders who are looking to build a strong foundation in healthcare revenue cycle management while working with a global leader in healthcare technology-enabled services.
As a Medical Coding Associate, you will be responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and assigning accurate diagnosis and procedure codes in compliance with ICD-10 and CPT guidelines. This role offers structured learning, professional mentorship, and long-term career growth in medical coding and healthcare analytics.
Review patient medical records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for diagnoses and procedures
Ensure proper code sequencing in accordance with payer, government, and regulatory guidelines
Validate clinical documentation and follow up with providers for missing or unclear information
Communicate effectively with clinical and operational teams regarding documentation and coding queries
Analyze complex or unusual cases by researching coding references and guidelines
Review patient charts, encounter notes, and supporting documents for coding accuracy
Evaluate and code daily assigned patient records within defined quality and productivity standards
Ensure all assigned codes are current, valid, and compliant with industry standards
Experience:
Freshers with 0–1 year of experience are eligible
Certified candidates with exposure to IP or OP coding will be preferred
Education:
Any Graduate
Certification (Mandatory):
CPC / CPC-A / CIC / CCS / COC (Active certification from AAPC or AHIMA)
Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding guidelines
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
High attention to detail and accuracy
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced healthcare environment
