Primary Responsibilities

  • Implement updates to AMA, AHA, and CMS guidelines.

  • Review and analyze medical records, adding/modifying CPT codes for minor surgical procedures, vaccines, and laboratory CPT codes.

  • Extract and code various screening CPT codes and HCPCS codes from documentation.

  • Check NCCI edits, LCD & NCD coverage determinations, and modify ICD-10-CM codes, CPT codes, and modifiers as necessary.

  • Collaborate effectively in a team to maintain quality and productivity.

  • Organize and prioritize work to ensure timely coding and resolution of edits in compliance with regulatory and client guidelines.

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA policies for patient records.

  • Follow company policies, procedures, and directives including transfer, reassignment, shift changes, and other organizational adjustments.


Required Qualifications

  • Graduate with a life sciences background.

  • Certified coder through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CCS, CIC, or COC).

  • Must provide proof of current certification with a valid certification ID.

  • Fresher or 0.6–5 years of experience in medical coding.

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology.

  • Understanding of system security policies and procedures.

  • Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines.
