Position Overview:

As a Medical Coding Analyst, you will ensure accurate coding of clinical records, incorporating updates from relevant coding guidelines and optimizing claims accuracy and compliance. You’ll play a key role in the medical review process, supporting efficient operations and high-quality service delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply updates from AMA, AHA, and CMS guidelines effectively.

  • Review and analyze medical records; assign or update CPT codes for minor procedures, vaccines, and labs.

  • Extract and code screening CPT and HCPCS codes based on documentation.

  • Check NCCI edits, LCD/NCD determinations, and modify ICD-10-CM, CPT codes, and modifiers as needed.

  • Collaborate in a team setting to enhance quality and productivity.

  • Organize and prioritize coding tasks to comply with client and regulatory timelines.

  • Adhere to confidentiality and security protocols.

  • Comply with HIPAA guidelines for patient record confidentiality.

  • Follow company policies, procedures, and directives, including shifts or location changes as per business needs.


Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate with current medical coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA

    • Accepted certifications: CPC, CCS, CIC, or COC

  • Must provide proof of valid certification during interview or offer process

  • Strong foundation in Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology

  • Knowledge of system security protocols for safeguarding patient data

  • Basic understanding of ED/EM coding levels, MDM, and correct modifier application based on NCCI edits and CPT guidelines

  • Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards
