Key Responsibilities:
Accurately review and assign diagnosis and procedure codes (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II) from medical records for Multispecialty Outpatient Surgery centers and hospitals.
Ensure coding is in compliance with ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines, CPT Guidelines, NCCI edits, and client-specific policies.
Stay up to date with changes in coding standards including AMA, AHA, CMS updates.
Actively contribute to team performance improvement in terms of quality and productivity.
Prioritize and organize work to meet compliance and regulatory timelines.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines.
Adhere to employment contract terms and company policies regarding reassignments, work environments, or shifts.
Required Qualifications:
Graduate in Life Sciences or Allied Medicine.
AAPC or AHIMA certified coder.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in multispecialty surgical coding.
Hands-on coding expertise in Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, ENT, Ophthalmology, and OBGYN.
Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
Demonstrated ability to code 4-6 charts/hour while maintaining accuracy.
Experience in using modifiers, checking NCCI edits, LCD/NCD coverage, and adjusting codes accordingly.
