About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Coder – Profee OB/GYN (E/M & Procedures) to support professional fee coding, OB/GYN specialty coding, evaluation & management (E/M) coding, procedural coding, and healthcare reimbursement operations. This role is ideal for professionals with expertise in ICD-10-CM coding, CPT coding, HCPCS coding, Profee coding, OB/GYN medical coding, E/M coding, and healthcare documentation analysis.

The ideal candidate will accurately interpret physician documentation, assign diagnosis and procedure codes, maintain coding quality and productivity targets, and ensure compliance with client requirements and healthcare reimbursement standards.

This opportunity is ideal for early-career medical coders looking to specialize in OB/GYN and professional fee coding.

Key Responsibilities

Professional Fee Medical Coding (Profee)

  • Accurately convert patient diagnoses, clinical encounters, and medical procedures into standardized medical codes using:
    • ICD-10-CM
    • CPT coding systems
    • HCPCS coding frameworks
  • Ensure coding aligns with payer requirements, client guidelines, and reimbursement standards.

OB/GYN Specialty Coding

  • Review and code clinical documentation related to Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) healthcare services.
  • Interpret physician notes, patient charts, procedural documentation, and specialty records accurately.
  • Support compliant coding for OB/GYN professional fee billing workflows.

E/M (Evaluation & Management) Coding

  • Perform coding for Evaluation & Management (E/M) services in accordance with coding standards and documentation requirements.
  • Review encounter documentation to ensure appropriate code selection based on medical necessity and service level.
  • Support accurate reimbursement through compliant E/M coding practices.

Procedure Coding

  • Assign accurate procedure codes for OB/GYN-related treatments, examinations, and interventions.
  • Ensure CPT and HCPCS coding reflects the documented procedures appropriately.
  • Support coding quality across procedural billing workflows.

Medical Records Review & Documentation Analysis

  • Analyze patient medical records, physician documentation, and specialty clinical records for coding completeness and accuracy.
  • Interpret diagnoses, procedures, and treatment documentation for correct code assignment.
  • Identify documentation gaps impacting coding quality.

Coding Productivity & Turnaround Time Management

  • Complete assigned coding volumes accurately within established turnaround time (TAT) expectations.
  • Manage workload allocated by Team Leads effectively.
  • Maintain operational productivity while preserving coding accuracy.

Quality & Accuracy Compliance

  • Consistently maintain 95%+ coding accuracy while achieving monthly productivity targets.
  • Follow internal coding standards, client coding workflows, and reimbursement compliance requirements.
  • Ensure audit-ready coding quality across assigned work.

Team Collaboration & Feedback Participation

  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a coding operations team.
  • Collaborate regularly with Team Leads and Quality Analysts for coaching, quality reviews, and feedback implementation.
  • Participate actively in coding workflow coordination.

QA Meetings & Continuous Improvement

  • Attend weekly QA and team meetings consistently.
  • Participate in two-way communication regarding quality metrics, audit observations, and coding improvements.
  • Apply feedback to strengthen coding performance and compliance.

Workflow & Client Process Compliance

  • Develop detailed understanding of assigned client workflows, coding rules, reimbursement processes, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure coding compliance with healthcare standards and business expectations.

Information Security & Compliance

  • Follow organizational information security policies to protect healthcare data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Report data security incidents or compliance concerns as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation or post-graduation in:
    • Life Sciences
    • Paramedical Sciences
    • Allied Healthcare disciplines
    • Related healthcare educational backgrounds
  • Minimum 1–2 years of relevant medical coding experience
  • Freshers are not eligible
