About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Coder – Profee Multispecialty E/M (IP/OP) to support professional fee coding, evaluation & management coding, inpatient/outpatient documentation review, and multispecialty healthcare reimbursement operations. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in ICD-10-CM coding, CPT coding, HCPCS coding, E&M coding, Profee coding, emergency medicine coding, and healthcare documentation analysis.

The ideal candidate will review patient medical records, accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes, ensure coding quality, and maintain operational productivity standards in a healthcare revenue cycle environment.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Coding & Code Assignment

  • Accurately assign standardized medical billing codes using:
    • ICD-10-CM
    • CPT
    • HCPCS
  • Convert patient diagnoses, physician encounters, and healthcare procedures into accurate alphanumeric billing codes.
  • Ensure coding compliance with internal standards, payer rules, and client-specific workflows.

Professional Fee Coding (Profee)

  • Perform coding for physician professional fee billing services.
  • Ensure accurate reimbursement coding based on provider documentation.
  • Support compliant professional billing workflows.

Evaluation & Management (E/M) Coding

  • Perform coding for Evaluation & Management (E/M) services across:
    • Inpatient (IP)
    • Outpatient (OP)
  • Review documentation to assign appropriate encounter/service-level codes.
  • Ensure coding accuracy based on clinical documentation and reimbursement standards.

Multispecialty Documentation Review

  • Interpret patient records across multiple medical specialties.
  • Review physician notes, diagnoses, treatment records, and procedural documentation.
  • Support accurate coding across varied healthcare service lines.

Emergency Medicine / Specialty Exposure

  • Apply coding expertise in:
    • Emergency Department coding
    • Multispecialty E&M workflows
    • Radiology exposure
    • Professional fee coding

Productivity & Turnaround Time

  • Complete assigned coding volumes within required turnaround timelines.
  • Track work allocation assigned by Team Lead.
  • Maintain productivity without compromising coding quality.

Quality & Accuracy Compliance

  • Consistently maintain 95%+ coding accuracy.
  • Follow QA expectations, coding standards, client requirements, and audit compliance guidelines.
  • Ensure coding deliverables are operationally accurate and audit-ready.

Team Collaboration

  • Work effectively independently and within coding teams.
  • Regularly interact with Team Leads and Quality Analysts for feedback and quality improvement.
  • Participate in weekly QA and operational meetings.

Workflow & Client Process Adherence

  • Understand assigned client workflows, documentation expectations, and coding procedures in detail.
  • Ensure compliance with operational and client-specific requirements.

Information Security

  • Protect healthcare information according to organizational security policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data.
  • Report security incidents where required.

Required Qualifications

  • Life Sciences / Paramedical Graduate or Postgraduate
  • 1–2 years of relevant medical coding experience
