Job Summary

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding for inpatient and outpatient medical records.

  • Maintain ≥95% coding accuracy in choice and sequencing of codes.

  • Index and abstract medical data for hospital statistics, planning, and reimbursement.

  • Meet departmental productivity and turnaround time standards.

  • Participate in coding meetings and education conferences to improve coding skills.

  • Attend conference calls to provide updates and information on coding-related activities.

  • Collaborate effectively with hospital and departmental staff.

  • Demonstrate flexibility with working hours or shift changes when required.

  • Comply with all company policies, confidentiality, and regulatory guidelines.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Graduate – Any discipline.

  • Mandatory certification from AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CCS, CIC, or COC).

  • Certified fresher or 0–5 years (G23–G24) of medical coding experience.

  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT-4 coding guidelines.

  • Ability to maintain quality and productivity benchmarks.

  • Excellent time management and attention to detail.

  • Strong understanding of how coding impacts hospital operations and reimbursement.
