About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Medical Coder to join a global healthcare organization committed to improving patient outcomes through technology-driven solutions. This role focuses on accurate and compliant coding of professional services within Emergency Department (ED) settings. The position requires strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and regulatory guidelines to ensure correct documentation, coding quality, and adherence to compliance standards.

You will work under supervision but are expected to demonstrate exceptional accuracy, productivity, and continuous learning in alignment with industry updates and client requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and abstract relevant information from medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II codes and modifiers for ED (Profee and Facility) settings.

  • Code a minimum of 12 charts per hour while maintaining required quality standards.

  • Track and implement updates from AMA, AHA, CMS, and other governing bodies.

  • Analyze medical documentation to add or modify CPT codes for minor procedures, vaccinations, and laboratory services.

  • Extract and code screening CPT codes and PQRS codes as per documentation.

  • Review NCCI edits, LCD/NCD guidelines, and update ICD-10-CM codes, CPT codes, and modifiers accordingly.

  • Organize and prioritize workloads to ensure timely completion of coding tasks and resolution of edits.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.

  • Follow organizational policies, contractual obligations, work-shift flexibility, and operational directives as required by business needs.


Required Qualifications

  • Graduate in Life Sciences or Allied Health with AAPC or AHIMA certification.

  • Minimum Experience Required:

    • 2+ years of multispecialty Evaluation & Management (ED Profee and Facility) coding experience.

    • Hands-on experience in coding Emergency Department and Critical Care services.

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology.

  • Expertise in determining E/M levels based on MDM and applying modifiers per NCCI edits and CPT guidelines.

  • Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II coding standards.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to overall quality and productivity improvements.

Experience Required
