About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Medical Coder with expertise in multispecialty Evaluation & Management (E&M) services to support accurate clinical documentation and coding operations. This role plays a critical part in improving healthcare outcomes by ensuring compliant, precise, and timely coding in alignment with regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and abstract data from clinical documentation to assign appropriate medical codes across:

    • Multispecialty Outpatient Clinics

    • Urgent Care Centres

    • Inpatient Hospital Settings

  • Maintain a coding productivity standard of 12 charts per hour while meeting established quality benchmarks.

  • Stay updated with coding changes and regulatory guidance, including AMA, AHA, and CMS guidelines.

  • Determine Evaluation & Management (E&M) levels (99202–99215) based on MDM, and apply appropriate modifiers according to NCCI edits and CPT guidelines.

  • Review and analyze medical records to assign or modify CPT codes for minor surgical procedures, vaccinations, laboratory services, and screenings.

  • Extract and code applicable screening CPT codes and PQRS codes as documented.

  • Evaluate NCCI edits, LCDs, and NCDs to accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes with correct modifiers.

  • Prioritize and organize coding tasks to ensure timely resolution of edits and adherence to compliance standards.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA privacy and security requirements.

  • Work collaboratively in a large team environment, contributing to quality improvement and operational productivity.

  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and employment terms, including flexibility regarding work locations, shifts, and organizational changes aligned with business needs.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience:

    • 1+ year of experience in multispecialty Evaluation & Management (E&M) medical coding.

  • Education:

    • Graduate in Life Sciences or Allied Health Sciences.

  • Certifications:

    • AAPC or AHIMA certification (mandatory).

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.

    • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

  • Domain Exposure:

    • Hands-on coding experience across specialties such as Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Urgent Care, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, and Otolaryngology.
