Role Overview
The Medical Billing Specialist (Contract) is responsible for managing insurance verification, co-pay collection, and client account processing while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, PHI, and related regulatory policies. This role requires accuracy, confidentiality, and excellent communication skills to handle sensitive client financial information.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the insurance verification process and explain client co-pay responsibilities.
Follow up with clients to facilitate co-pay collections as needed.
Input client payment information, including credit card details, into the system for account processing.
Ensure all activities adhere to HIPAA, PHI, and internal compliance standards.
Report any compliance or operational issues to the Director of Operations.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Prior experience in medical billing or healthcare administration preferred.
Excellent office management and communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling patient and billing information.
