Position Summary

The Medical Advisor – Internal Medicine is responsible for developing and executing medical affairs strategies for assigned products and therapeutic areas. The role serves as a scientific expert, engaging with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders (KOLs), regulatory authorities, medical societies, and internal stakeholders to support evidence generation, medical education, product lifecycle management, and patient-centric healthcare initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Strategy & Scientific Leadership

  • Develop and implement medical strategies for assigned products and therapeutic areas.

  • Provide scientific and medical leadership to support business and healthcare objectives.

  • Translate medical insights into actionable strategies and evidence-generation plans.

  • Support product lifecycle management and indication expansion activities.

KOL & External Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, medical associations, and academic institutions.

  • Engage with regulatory bodies and healthcare stakeholders in accordance with company policies.

  • Support scientific advocacy and medical education initiatives.

  • Identify and gather clinical insights to inform medical strategy development.

Medical Affairs & Evidence Generation

  • Lead local data generation programs, including observational studies and real-world evidence projects.

  • Support outcomes research and post-marketing evidence generation initiatives.

  • Collaborate with regulatory teams on Non-Interventional Studies (NIS), Post-Marketing Surveillance (PMS), and other clinical research activities.

  • Ensure scientific rigor and compliance across all medical projects.

Regulatory & Compliance Support

  • Provide medical expertise for product registrations and new indications.

  • Review labeling documents and regulatory submissions.

  • Support compliance with internal policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure timely completion of mandatory medical and compliance training.

Scientific Communication

  • Review and approve scientific communication materials.

  • Ensure scientific accuracy and compliance of promotional and non-promotional content.

  • Deliver medical presentations and educational programs.

  • Support internal and external medical communications.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Commercial, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, Clinical Development, and Pharmacovigilance teams.

  • Support business strategies through scientific and medical expertise.

  • Provide medical input into brand planning and launch strategies.

  • Conduct medical training programs for sales and field teams.

Educational Qualification

  • MBBS required.

  • MD (Internal Medicine / Pharmacology or relevant specialty) preferred.

  • Advanced degree in Medical Sciences or Healthcare Management preferred.

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Research, Pharmaceutical Medicine, or Medical Affairs are advantageous.

Experience Required

  • Experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry preferred.

  • Experience interacting with healthcare professionals and KOLs.

  • Experience supporting clinical research, medical strategy, or evidence generation programs.

  • Strong understanding of Internal Medicine therapeutic areas.

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical product development and commercialization.
