Job Title

  • Medical Advisor (Cardiovascular Disease – CVD)


Role Overview

The Medical Advisor will act as a core scientific member of the cross-functional franchise team and serve as a therapeutic area expert. The role focuses on providing scientific leadership, supporting business strategy, enabling medical affairs activities, and ensuring evidence-based decision-making across the CVD franchise.


Key Responsibilities

1. Medical & Scientific Leadership

  • Act as a disease area expert and core scientific member of the franchise team

  • Provide scientific input for business and product strategy

  • Identify knowledge, practice, and data gaps in the therapeutic area

  • Translate KOL insights into actionable medical strategies

  • Represent the organization in internal and external scientific platforms


2. Product & Franchise Development Support

  • New product ideation and evaluation

  • Provide therapeutic rationale for regulatory submissions

  • Support SEC presentations and regulatory defense

  • Develop product monographs and training materials

  • Assist in pre-launch and launch medical planning


3. Medical Education & Training

  • Design and execute medical education programs (CME, workshops, advisory boards)

  • Develop training modules for sales and marketing teams

  • Deliver scientific updates and therapeutic area training

  • Ensure continuous medical knowledge flow within the organization


4. KOL Engagement & External Collaboration

  • Engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in peer-to-peer scientific discussions

  • Conduct advisory board meetings

  • Collect insights on treatment trends and disease management practices

  • Collaborate with thought leaders for publications and scientific outputs


5. Medical Affairs Operations

  • Review and approve promotional and non-promotional materials

  • Respond to scientific queries from physicians and internal stakeholders

  • Ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory guidelines

  • Conduct scientific evaluation of new products through research and KOL interaction


6. Evidence Generation & Research

  • Plan and execute real-world clinical research studies

  • Support publications including meta-analyses, case studies, and case series

  • Develop patient-reported outcomes and scientific manuscripts

  • Contribute to peer-reviewed journal publications


Regulatory & Compliance Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with:

    • MCI Code of Ethics for doctors

    • UCPMP Code for Pharma

    • Drugs and Cosmetics Act

    • Clinical trial regulations and guidelines


Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

  • MD in Pharmacology


Experience

  • Minimum 6 months of experience in:

    • Medical Affairs

    • Pharmaceutical industry OR research organization

    • Role such as Medical Advisor or Senior Medical Advisor

  • Medical writing and clinical trial methodology

  • Research design and interpretation of medical data

  • Knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines
