Position Overview

This Medical Assistant FLOAT role requires fluency in both English and Spanish. The position offers an additional $2/hour and a $1,000 sign-on bonus for new hires. As a FLOAT position, you will be traveling to various Pediatric Associates locations, including MDK Humble, Hillcroft, Westbury, Aldine, Bissonet, Airline, Broadway, Groveway, MDK Park Plaza, MDK High Star, Harrisburg. A valid driver's license is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Experience: Ensure a safe, welcoming, and clean environment for pediatric patients.
  • Vitals & Medical History: Take and document vitals (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration) and record patient histories.
  • Support Clinicians: Assist with exams, screenings, and minor procedures.
  • Vaccine Administration: Administer vaccines and medications, ensuring proper handling, storage, and documentation.
  • Phlebotomy & Lab Samples: Perform blood draws and process lab samples.
  • Follow-Up: Handle prescription refills, referrals, patient forms, and appointment scheduling.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's in General Medicine for foreign doctors.
  • Certification: MA Diploma/Certification (or 3+ years of experience), Active BLS certification required.
  • Experience: 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Bilingual in English/Spanish required.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
    • Proficient in electronic health record systems.

Working Conditions

  • Direct patient care in clinic settings.
  • 15%-20% travel between office locations (reimbursed).
  • Indoor work environment with exposure to noise, hazards, and extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and push/pull up to 200 lbs.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and reach as needed.
