Role Overview

We are seeking a Manager, Pharmacovigilance to lead a dynamic team in ensuring the highest standards of pharmacovigilance practices and compliance. You will support project success by managing resources, implementing process improvements, and fostering collaboration across teams to achieve key business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Oversee direct reports to ensure project profitability and the achievement of goals.
  • Develop and implement objectives, metrics, and performance tracking for your team.
  • Mentor and guide staff through development plans, fostering a culture of learning, growth, and career advancement.
  • Build and lead a technical team to execute critical tasks and meet deliverables.
  • Review project tasks and ensure the quality and timeliness of pharmacovigilance services.
  • Manage resource allocation, ensuring proper staffing and team efficiency to meet project goals.

Process & Resource Management

  • Implement process improvements and recommend corrective actions to enhance service delivery.
  • Lead the generation of project plans, including Safety Management Plans (SMP) and SAE Reconciliation Plans, in collaboration with the project team.
  • Liaise with other functional managers to ensure consistency across safety management approaches within the company.
  • Analyze project backlogs and forecast resource needs to ensure business objectives are met.

Compliance & Training

  • Ensure that all staff adhere to company and client QMS, policies, procedures, and SOPs.
  • Deliver training on pharmacovigilance processes, including departmental topics and general company processes.
  • Support audit preparations, and assist during audits, ensuring timely responses to findings.

Client Relations & Business Development

  • Act as a key point of contact in client meetings, maintaining strong relationships with clients to support repeat business.
  • Participate in business development initiatives, including proposal development and presentation.
  • Support the recruitment process, ensuring high-quality talent is hired to meet operational needs.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Travel as needed (approx. 15%) to support domestic and international project needs.
  • Vendor management for external pharmacovigilance providers and related service areas.
  • Support the Qualified Person for Pharmacovigilance, including deputy responsibilities as required.
  • Monitor team performance, including metrics collection, to support continuous process improvement initiatives.

Supervision Given

  • Works under general supervision with coaching and guidance for managerial tasks.
  • Expected to work independently most of the time.
