📋 Job Summary
The Manager, Medical Writing (Narratives) is responsible for supervising a team of medical writers focused on clinical narratives. The role includes oversight of project execution, resource planning, quality assurance, staff development, and cross-functional collaboration.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
Supervise and coach direct reports
Set performance goals and conduct reviews
Create and monitor development and training plans
Participate in hiring, onboarding, and staff mentoring
Project & Operational Oversight
Prioritize and allocate departmental resources
Implement company objectives and streamline processes
Address operational challenges with creative solutions
Oversee writing deliverables according to SOPs and client standards
Medical Writing Responsibilities
Ensure clarity, accuracy, and regulatory compliance in narrative deliverables
Lead and maintain cross-functional writing teams
Review deliverables including statistical analysis plans, tables, figures, and listings
Participate in writing, reviewing, and assembling documents as needed
Quality & Process Improvement
Maintain and improve SOPs and templates
Track, maintain, and analyze department metrics
Ensure high-quality, timely, and compliant document outputs
Strategic & Business Support
Assist with budgeting, timelines, forecasting, and invoicing
Support proposals, bid defenses, and client meetings
Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning and updates
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain internal and external relationships
Act as a liaison between departments to resolve issues and ensure alignment
💼 Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $95,000 – $175,700
(Actual salary will depend on qualifications, skills, and experience)
