Role Summary

As the Manager, Clinical Systems, you will lead a global team responsible for overseeing clinical systems operations, ensuring compliance, driving process improvements, and supporting study delivery. This role plays a key part in enhancing clinical systems efficiency, fostering talent development, and delivering high-quality work across projects.


Key Responsibilities

Team & People Management

  • Supervise Clinical Systems team activities including:

    • Time-sheet tracking

    • Training compliance (e.g., iLearn, sponsor-specific modules)

    • Leave management

  • Mentor and develop team members by providing technical and leadership guidance.

  • Conduct performance appraisals and create individual development plans.

  • Support recruitment efforts and resource forecasting based on project needs.

Operational & Project Oversight

  • Ensure all work aligns with GCP, ICH guidelines, and applicable regulatory standards.

  • Liaise effectively with project/study teams, ensuring timely communication and issue escalation.

  • Drive resource allocation, workload balancing, and monitor adherence to timelines and budgets.

  • Lead Clinical Systems representation in:

    • Sponsor meetings

    • Audits

    • Cross-functional reviews

Strategic & Technical Leadership

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives within Clinical Systems.

  • Identify and proactively address process inefficiencies and technical gaps.

  • Drive innovation through new tools, automation, and analytics integration.

  • Represent ICON at industry conferences and external engagements (preferred).


Required Qualifications & Skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences or related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum of 13+ years of experience in Clinical Systems, Clinical Analytics, or related domains.

  • Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional, internal, and client-facing teams in a matrix organization.

Technical Expertise

  • Hands-on experience with one or more clinical systems:

    • Medidata Rave

    • Central Designer

    • Veeva Vault CDMS

    • Elluminate

  • Exposure to:

    • Data visualization tools

    • Python and data analytics platforms

    • SDTM and SAS (preferred)

  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (GCP, ICH, FDA, etc.)

  • Demonstrated passion for continuous learning and technology innovation
